OpenSea Acquires Rally to Expand Mobile NFT and Token Trading

OpenSea, the leading U.S.-based NFT marketplace, has acquired Web3 mobile platform Rally in a strategic MOVE to bolster its mobile trading capabilities. The deal signals OpenSea's ambition to evolve into a comprehensive on-chain application, with plans to launch a mobile-optimized NFT and token trading platform later this year.

Rally co-founders Chris Maddern and Christine Hall will join OpenSea's leadership team, bringing their expertise in mobile-first Web3 solutions. Maddern will assume the role of Chief Technology Officer, spearheading the development of new DeFi tools and mobile trading features.

The acquisition comes as the NFT market faces significant headwinds, with sales volume hitting a 2025 low. OpenSea's mobile push represents a calculated bet on mainstream adoption through improved accessibility.
